What’s happening around here…

Hi Folks,

Just a quick update on the directory and blog.

Directory - At the moment I’m a bit behind with approvals, I have over 800 sites awaiting approval, and each needs to be checked, firstly that it’s a blog (and about 90% of the sites submitted aren’t even blogs!) and secondly for “do follow” status.  I also need to review the sites we already have in the directory because they change status, and some that WERE “do follow” are now “NO follow”.

My first priority is to get the new sites into the directory, then to review the current entries.   If you find entries that are no longer “do follow”, feel free to comment on this post.. list the entries and I’ll remove them from the directory.

Blog - lots has been happening out there in the “do follow” world.. I’ll be reading around the blogoshpere and hope to do an update once I’ve digested all the info and have come to some conclusions.    I’ve heard some rumors that leaving comments is no longer valuable, so that’s something I’d like to investigate and get back to you all on.

Cheers for now!

      That sounds good.

Don’t you think it would be great if there was a directory of nofollow blogs, where any user could rate the blog, with a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

That way if a blog was no follow, many users would give it a thumbs down.

This system would mean that no one specifically would have to maintain a directory and check that the blogs were still do follow.

So.. haven’t finished the investigation yet!! I’m eagerly waiting to know the investigation result. I’m a new blogger and this is quite useful info for me. Thanks for the quick updates. But cant understand why they change status from “do follow” to “NO follow”. Anyway dont want to take much time of yours because you’ve got lots of works to do! Good luck:)

I am new to this nofollow blogs or do follow blogs. I found out about it from my friend Alex Sysoef who helps me out a lot with my blogging. I want to tell more people about this so I hope you do not mind. I need to find out more about it first though, so this is my first visit. Thanks for this blog.

Many blogs is no longer followed and it is a shame that if they requested to include in your listing, the least they should do is to notify you about the changes to nofollow.

I am not sure how you going to review all the existing listing in your directory. If you are going to manually inspect, that will take you years. Writing a program to automate the checking should be pretty easily.

Not only NoFollow, but many blogs don’t allow to comment as well. I have spent good enough time in writing a valuable comment on the blog, and when I submitted it, simply it did not go anywhere. Neither I had saved the text written nor the comment reached to the blog author. And this is not with one blog here, many blogs I have been experiencing this with. Is it that blogger don’t want us to comment. We won’t add our website may be if they want but let us comment on good articles.

Note: Please approve this comment and not the earlier one. Wrong website URL :(

I imagine that you are being buried with submissions. Sadly, there will be a lot of spammers in there trying to get a free link. Good luck with weeding out the junk.

I have a blog but I’m not familiar with this follow or do follow blog. I think I need to research for its meaning.

Looking good. Do follow blogs are hard to find. I use your site a lot for this reason. Keep up the great work.
